Housing Intake

Housing for homeless / at risk young adults

Service Description

Snipes H3 serves the at-risk youth homeless population that is between the ages of 18-24, who are in need of support, housing, and guidance. We do not discriminate based on gender identity, sexual orientation, race, personal history, medical diagnosis, criminal history, or economic background. Snipes H3 is a transitional housing program for homeless youth ages 18-24 where we provide help for our program participants by providing them with coping and life skills training, mentors, companionship, school services for those requiring high-school completion (class assistance, attendance, supplies, homework, and tutors), support, case management, leadership, trade skill exposure, as well as food safety and dietary needs. In order for them to be eligible to be part of Snipes H3 program, we require them to meet all of their drug/alcohol rehabilitation requirements, as well as meeting with doctors, counselors, and social workers at the professionals' recommendations. The vast majority of our program participants are house young adults with difficult home lives who lost housing around their 18th birthday. Some were kicked out due to their sexual orientation or gender identity, some due to aging out of the foster care system, and some left willingly to get out of a dangerous situation.
